Metagenomics (16S / 18S)

16S and 18S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) sequencing are common amplicon sequencing methods used to identify and compare bacteria or fungi present within a given sample. It enables to compare sample phylogeny and taxonomy from complex microbiomes or environments that are difficult or impossible to study.
The ATGC offers a varied of rRNA sequencing libraries from genomic DNA:
- Bacterial 16S sequencing libraries- V4 region, 300bps single-end sequencing.
- Bacterial 16S sequencing libraries- V3-V4, 250bps paired-end sequencing.
- Fungi-specific 18S sequencing libraries.
Before submitting samples for 16S/18S, please review our samples delivery instructions and send us your sample submission form.
The sequencing data is sent via Illumina Basespace cloud. Please open an account and indicate the email address associated with your account in the sample submission form. Instructions on how to open an account and manage your data in the cloud.
